SEOUL FIELD NOTES · TTUKSEOM

Ttukseom, Han River
Seoul Windsurfing Center

From a day walking along the river to a day heading out on the water. Seoul Windsurfing Center in Ttukseom is a water sports base where you can experience wind and paddling without leaving Seoul.

A day on the Han River

Time to turn your back on the city and meet the Han River's wind

On one side stand Seoul's buildings; on the other, the wide surface of the Han River opens up. Ttukseom's appeal is meeting windsurfing and paddleboarding between these two views. If you're curious about the feeling of moving with the wind, look into windsurfing; if you're curious about moving yourself forward with a paddle, look into SUP.

01 · Ways to enjoy it

Ride the wind, or paddle your way?

Different activities, a first experience that suits you

Beyond windsurfing, you'll find a range of water activities: paddleboarding (SUP), kayaking, paddle yoga and even banana boats. Even on the same Han River, your day will feel different depending on the gear you choose.

You don't need to get all the gear from the start. You can begin by comparing the lesson and rental programs run by the various operators here. Tell them first which activity you want and your experience level, then check the class times and included gear.

02 · Your first visit

Before you get to the park, pick your club

Lesson and rental inquiries are separate from park inquiries

Ttukseom Windsurfing Center isn't a facility that runs every activity through a single booking desk. For lessons, rentals and bookings, contact the operator you plan to use; for park use, contact the Ttukseom Information Center. If you get the meeting point when you book, it's easier to find your operator on site.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government facility page lists the season as May to October. Actual business days, hours and programs vary by operator, so check them for the date you plan to visit. Wind and water conditions also follow the on-site guidance for the day.

03 · Before you go in the water

Before the gear, make sure of a safe start

Life jacket and on-site guidance first

Wear a life jacket and check the weather, water level, on-site controls and safety rules. If it's your first time, rather than heading out on your own, focus on learning how to use the gear and where you can go through a lesson.

If you're coming by car, check the parking location and fees in advance. The class start time may include gear prep and a safety briefing, so it's best to follow your operator's instructions for the meeting time.
